Assassins break the SHG record for a week!

Congratulations to the assassins. Who after thursday, have already broken the Short Handed Goal record for a week. It was tied by a few people at 2 and has been stuck like that for a long time. Tomas Vanek had a SHG in back to back games. And Simon Gagne's goal even though it was a penalty shot. It was while they were shorthanded. 3 Days of games left can the Assassins possibly add another one to his record before the week is over?

Trade Made: LumberJacks & ItsAllOver

A trade was made between ItsAllOver and the LumberJacks. It involved long time goalie of their franchise Rick Dipietro. In return he got hometown goalie Martin Biron and Brad Richards of the Dallas Stars.

Jack Johnson (MalagaRoad Flyers) out a at least 3 months after shoulder surgery

Young talented 2nd year d man Jack Johnson will miss 3 months or more. He will require shoulder surgery and that will be a significant blow to the MalagaRoad Flyers considering he already lost the other Johnson, Erik, for the rest of the year.

The Kings' Jack Johnson, a key figure in the team's rebuilding plans, suffered a tear in the labrum of his left shoulder Sunday and will undergo surgery this week.

He was put on injured reserve and isn't expected back until after the Jan. 25 All-Star game, Coach Terry Murray said Monday.

"It's very unfortunate," Murray said. "When you look at it, and when you look at things like this, it always seems like an innocent play."

Johnson was injured during the first period of the Kings' 1-0 loss to San Jose on Sunday at Staples Center. Murray said Johnson was attempting to play a puck that had flipped into the air when he was hit by a Sharks player.

"He saw the player at the last second and tried to get out of the way but couldn't," Murray said.

Young Rangers Prospect Cherepanov dies during a game in KHL

In a sad bizzare tragedy. Young Talented russian player Alexei Cherepanov passed away today during a game in the KHL league. He was drafted by the Rangers last year and was going to come up later this year or next year. He collided into teammate Jaromir Jagr, a few minutes later on the bench he collapsed of a heart attack and died. They were unable to revive him and the ambulance already left the building. This is another loss to the hockey community. Just last year young defenseman prospect luc bourdon was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident. Cherepanov looked like he was going to be a good player, its crazy to have a heart attack at 19 and in when your in shape.

The 1st week is completed!

Here is some of the game scores for the Week 1 Matches:

Grumpy's 6 - 4 Snipers
Flyers 6 - 5 Assassins
Scrubs 8 - 1 ItsAllOver
Executioners 7 - 5 LumberJacks
Incredibles 6 - 3 Spiders
Stingers 6 - 4 Slashers

The Player Of The week was (Grumpy's) Marc Savard!
